Londons biggest and best loved nocturnal music venue turns 13 this weekend, officially entering into puberty with a house party to spank all others- a non-stop 30hr rave which starts at 11pm on Saturday and comes to a fuzzy end on Monday at 5am (officially…). It’s a dreamy looking line-up featuring Seth Troxler, Bicep, Sandwell District and Joris Voorn to name just a few.
We have spent oh many many a Saturday night dancing in one of its three legendary rooms and have seen oodles of our favourite acts play there from Dixon to Richie Hawtin to Magda. The superclub holds a big place in our hearts.
Fabric also releases some of the best mix albums around and our shelves are littered with the lovely tin cases (with a little help from the brilliant Fabric First). We’ve picked our top 5 fabric albums to date:
1 – Michael Mayer – Fabric 13
2 – John Tejada – Fabric 44
3 – Guy Gerber – Fabric 64
4 – Damian Lazarus – Fabric 54
5 – Tiefschwarz – Fabric 29
Happy Birthday Fabric! Here’s to many more years of amazing music.
(Anyone who can make the whole 30hrs gets a gold star!)
