Cyril Hahn is at it again – and this time it’s Jessie Ware who gets the deep remix treatment from Hahn. You’re probably familiar with the Cyril Hahn remix of Destiny’s Child’s ‘Say My Name’ that we featured previously on the blog. It’s a bit of a tune. Now he’s taken another female vocal led track, Jessie’s ‘Sweet Talk’, and given it the deep house treatment he does so well. It’s an audio delight that you can stream below.
Adam Beyer’s recent mix for Drumcode Radio is our Friday Set Selector this week. An hour long mix of some very hot techno tracks, featuring tracks from Skudge, Nina Kraviz and a whole host of top techno artists. It’s dark, twisted and pumping, just like his set from the Halloween Drumcode Party. You’d expect nothing less really. Enjoy.

We found this trippy little techno number earlier today. Released on German label Gomma, it’s a remix of The Barking Dogs ‘Your High’ by The Analogue Cops. It’s full of weird noises and has a dark and repetitive melody that will send you into a hypnotic trance if you’re not careful. Maybe it’ll take us to the nearest techno party…
‘No Matter What’ is a track of warm house melodies, a catchy baseline and garage vocals that dip in and out, creating another Huxley great. There is also a nice MK dub (below) that enhances Huxley’s original with a bassier melody and more chopped up vocal samples. Huxley has created a chart on Beatport to go with the release… needless to say there’s a great selection of tracks that fit with that Huxley sound.
This weeks Friday Set Selector comes from Techno queen Anja Schneider.
Recorded live at the mobilee ADE session in Amsterdam which included Pan-Pot and Sebo K, it’s a banging techno set perfect for a weekend warm up. Definitely needed in frreeeeezing November. Enjoy.
When Kidnap Kid released his three track ‘Alphaville’ EP, we were blown away by its garagey goodness. Track ‘Vehl’ stands out as one of our favourite future garage releases, the soft French vocals and the beautifully brilliant melodies still give us goosebumps (listen here).
So when Black Butter records emailed us to tell us they were revisiting the EP and offering free mixes as part of their ‘Black Butter Spread Love’ download series, our ears picked up. The free downloads include remixes by 3 hrs & Woz, Matta, Vince Clarke, Jonty Skruff and South Soul Project.
It’s the Matta remix of the beautiful Vehl that has grabbed our attention though… take a listen below and follow the soundcloud links for your free downloads! Sweet.
Duke Dumont has us ready to party with track ‘Giver’. It’s a bouncy, deep number with an extremely catchy vocal sample that will have you bouncing away whether your sat at your desk itching for the weekend, listening on the bus or strutting some moves in the comfort of your own home.
It’s so good, it’s featured on our next Kittencast which is released in a couple of weeks… until then, press play and bounce away.
Geometric is a project that’s landed in our inbox all the way from an LA based duo via. the soundcloud alias ‘Druley’. Their track ‘Touch Me’ has caught our attention.
It’s a minimal number with a high pitched vocal sample and 2 step garage beat. Nice, chilled vibes that remind us of the wonderful SBTRKT. Check out a preview below.
Now summer is a distant memory, November is nearly upon us and we’re growing our winter coats to keep nice and warm, Luciano has gone and warmed up our day by uploading a sneaky peak of his summer anthem ‘Rise of Angel’.
It’s a warm, progressive track (which is actually 15 minutes long!) and brings back happy memories dancing around the poolside at Ibiza’s Ushuia hotel where we saw the man himself play (and lots of friends, including Nina Kraviz).
Let this 3 minute preview warm you up transport you to Balearic paradise. Enjoy.
Pan-Pot are a duo that produce top notch techno, and their latest remix of Format B’s ‘Liquid’ is no exception. It’s a dark, thumping remix and the mysterious melodies and distorted vocals make it a perfect track for any of the Halloween raves going on this weekend.
In fact we’re splitting up on Saturday night with half the kittens off to Innervisions in East London and the other kitty off to Great Suffolk Street Warehouse in South London for the Drumcode Halloween Fright Night. Pan-Pot are headlining along with techno demons Adam Bayer and Maetrik. It’s going to be a goulish night of dark, pumping techno where we’ll certainly be listening out for this remix. Maybe we’ll all turn into zombies when It drops…
Tickets for the Drumcode Halloween party are still on sale through Resident Advisor, priced at £27
Pan-Pot’s remix of ‘Liquid’ is available to download from Beatport now
