On Saturday, clubbers descended on Shoreditch’s Haggerston Park for the debut festival from established club night, Found. Any debut festival will have its sceptics, however Found really pulled this one off. The park was the perfect size which meant that the stages were all in close proximity and each one had a unique feel to it. Entry to the festival was quick and easy and toilet queues were no longer than you’d expect for any festival, although the bar queue was a bit long.
Despite the rainy weather the sell out festival was buzzing and as most people headed for shelter under the two tents there was a great atmosphere inside and packed out dance floors. Dark Sky and Henrik Schwarz got us dancing in the Tief & Trouble Vision tent, both of which we hadn’t seen play before and were blown away with their sets, particularly Dark Sky with their moody techno sound.
As the sun filtered through late afternoon the crowd dispersed outside towards the main stage where Huxley delivered a banging set followed by Todd Terry who dropped some classic tracks that combined with the shining sun meant everybody was in high spirits. Subb-An was the next port of call in the Magna Carta tent, delivering a deep and bassy set that we cut short to catch Maya Jane Coles who closed the main stage with her signature mix of underground and vocal house tracks that included her latest track ‘Everything’ featuring the vocals of Karin Park (stream below).
Found should be happy with their first ever festival, we’ll look forward to the next one! Follow Found here.
