This Saturday, a secret East London location plays host to one of our favourite London club nights – Rhythmatic.
Rhythmatic has a reputation of being one of the best underground parties in London, showcasing the best in alternative and up and coming talent in the underground tech scene.
July 7th is the last summer party from Rhythmatic and is a rather special affair with New York based DJ Three headlining. Described as the ‘perfect guest’ for Rhythmatic based on his ethos of ‘genre-bending’ and his open minded attitude, we’re excited to see what he brings to this Saturday.
Residents Stathis Lazarides, Archie Hamilton and Ceri are of course joining the line-up, as Stathis’ plays his last Rhythmatic party before heading to Myknos for a summer residency. The resident DJs are also joined by an exclusive B2B set from OdSounds and Ham Solo.
The secret location adds to the intrigue and underground vibe that Rhythmatic does so well. Combined with the 8am close and not forgetting the great showcase of DJ talent, it’s set to be a great night. Check out the podcast below by Archie Hamilton to whet your appetite.
Rhythmatic with DJ Three is on Saturday 7th July from 11pm-8am. Tickets are on sale now through Rhythmatic’s website or Resident Advisor. Venue is secret and TBC shortly.
One of our stand out acts in Ibiza was Swedish duo Skudge. Skudge front their own label Skudge Records and have been really prolific over the past three years producing loads of great tracks in a variety of styles, mostly focusing on techno (check out their soundcloud page).
We’re enjoying this live PA from Berlin’s Berghain. All tracks are unreleased and live and it really showcases how talented these guys are. It’s available to download for free too, very nice.
The Techno Kittens love Mercury.
This happy recording of them on Vienna’s FM4 Radio Show has us smiling. It kicks off with Mercury’s track 1994, which makes us feel like we’re skipping down the street with the sun shining, surrounded by rainbows and tweeting birds. The reality is we’re in drizzly London, but it’s a nice thought.
It’s a great set and also includes a sneak peek of a number of forthcoming Mercury releases such as ‘Old Man’s House’ (released 2nd June on Gomma Records) and ‘Lost in Ibiza’.
Press play and escape into a wonderful world of happiness for the next hour…
You can download Mercury’s tracks from Beatport
The first time we heard of Matador (a new-ish member of the Minus family) was at the Mixmag New Horizons party we went to in February. His set was part of a night at Village Underground in East London where he was followed by the one and only Richie Hawtin. For us Matador’s set was exactly what we were expecting from the night – it’s minimal, upbeat and there are a lot of interesting effects used to transform each track to deliver something pretty unique. This set is a great introduction to Matador, a new Techno Kitten favourite that we will definitely be keeping an eye on…
