We put a few questions to Diynamic crew member DJ Phono and got back some rather amusing answers. Makes for an interesting read! We’d like to hear more about his practical jokes…
Hey Dj Phono, the Diynamic crew are busy touring their festival concept around the world at the moment. For those that haven’t been…what’s a Diynamic party like?
Mmh, most of our parties are quite boring. You know, music, boys and girls, water and cola, Ferraris, elephants, pyramids, math, donuts and a lot of fancy stuff too.
Do you have any funny festival stories?
When I am on tour I have quite a lot to laugh about, but over the years I realised that I am the only one who finds these things so funny. But, the one where I put a prepared version of Solomun’s ‘Around’ on his USB stick is a sure shot – after the drop, came Bon Jovi’s ‘It´s My Life’…
How do you pass the time when you’re travelling so much?
Sadly there is no chance for me to get any sleep on a plane, but I try to make the best out of it and use the time for interviews, reading books, movies, cooking, sleeping, music, after hour parties…
We’ve been bouncing around to your latest mix ‘BUMBUMBUM mix’ hehe! What inspired the name?
This time I wanted to make a really romantic, ideal for listening while repairing your bicycle mix, and so there was only one possibility the name of this mix could be:
‘Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!’
Which record in your bag is currently being worked the hardest?
Bon Jovi ‘It´s My Life’.
And finally, the one we ask everyone, what would you do as a Techno Kitten for the day?
Maybe this is embarrassing as I was told this interview is for Techno Kittens, but I have absolutely no idea, what a ‘Techno Kitten’ is. But of course I would buy myself a bunch of Din A/4 paper, climb a big rock and fold one paper-aeroplane after the other and watch them fly into the horizon.
