Kruse & Nuernberg, the house duo from Hamburg and the guys behind the Save Room imprint, have recently collaborated with Isis Salam with their latest release on Exploited titled ‘Nasty Girl’, a fresh house banger. The release follows Isis’ debut album ‘Let Go’ and features a remix from the legendary DJ Sneak with real jackin’ vibes.
We caught up with Kruse & Nuernberg to find out more about the release and what the summer has in store for them…
So guys, we see you’re just back from Sonar! How was it and where did you play?
First of all we have to say it was a great Sonar this year, maybe the best Sonar experience so far. It was a combination of spending time at the beach, doing some sports and making business talks at parties. We went to quite a few cool parties, including the Diynamic pool party, Mobilee rooftop, Defected, Keinemusik, Jackmode showcase and many more. We only played once and that was for our OFF Recordings family at a venue close to Placa Espanja. After a few technical issues at the very beginning we had a great label showcase, the party people stayed until the very end – we all had a lot of fun!
We’ve been strutting it to your new track ‘Nasty Girl’ with Isis Salam, how did that come about?
We did a track called ‘We Find Deep’ together with Michelle Owen approximately a year ago and were looking for a cool vocal. Michelle introduced us to Isis Salam and we started working together on more tracks and had releases on Stil Vor Talent, Rejected and Exploited with her. ‘Nasty Girl’ is the follow up EP on Exploited. There are more things to come with this collaboration that’s for sure, we complement each other and have a similar taste in music, guess thats the magic between us! Isis is a big talent on the vocal as well as on the production side.
Are you ‘Nasty Boys’? (hehe)
Hahaha… no we are not 🙂 Most of the time we’re probably too nice and friendly, spreading the love vibe. We should think about working on a ‘nasty’ image shouldn’t we?!
Are there any other artists you’re itching to collaborate with?
Yes! We are collaborating again with Teenage Mutants on a new EP which is already in progress and we want to start a studio session with our mates Mat.Joe in a few weeks. We also talked to Smash TV about a collaboration but haven’t started yet.
So summer, it’s here…what else are you up to?
There are three boat parties scheduled for us. We play at ‘Beats n Boats’ in Berlin for OFF Recordings, on a boat party in North of Germany and for Exploited in Istanbul. Other than that we love the sun and being outside. Nils is also doing a road trip to Switzerland and Italy. Summer is simply the best time of the year – that’s for sure!
And finally, the one we ask everyone…what would K&N do as techno kittens for the day?
We would do what kittens do: Laying at a cosy place where the sunshine comes through the window, eating fresh fish for lunch and drinking a lot of milk (probably mixed with vodka or gin) while listening to some good music. No shower, no bath! Kitty style!
Cheers guys. Vodka & Milk sounds right up our street!
