New Years Day is fast becoming the day to party over the traditional NYE celebrations. More and more parties are thrown on the first day of year and the line ups (especially in London) seem to get bigger and better each year. This year The Techno Kitten’s headed down to London’s Tobacco Dock for the London Warehouse Events New Years Day party.
The event was sold out and by 4pm the queue’s were huge with people waiting to get in and out of the miserable rainy weather. Once in we were so excited by the venue. We’d never been here before and were excited by the unusual building which had two huge rooms (one being the floor of the multi storey car park), a chill out area and lots of space to hang outside, smoke and grab food.
First up we caught the lady of Mobilee, Anja Schneider. We caught the tail end of her set and by the time we’d hit the dance floor the party was in full swing with Anja dropping some banging techno. Next up was Seth Troxler. As always his set was full of energy and he kept the party going. Of course we caught Maceo Plex who, as always, delivered a set that blew us away. A personal highlight had to be when he dropped his track ‘Love Somebody Else’, tune.
Next up was Heidi, who bounced and bopped us into the evening and kept up the energy until surprise headliner Adam Beyer (well he’d been announced only a few days before to our delight!) took to the decks in the car park area and smashed it! We found ourselves a suitably sweaty corner and stomped away until the end of the night (a very respectable 11pm). The only little downer was having to wait an hour in the coat queue…guess you can’t have it all.
Overall a top day (to night). Loved the venue (please use it again LWE). Amazing music and an up-for-it friendly crowd. Good times.
