Happy Easter Kittenettes. We hope you’re all have a lovely day and have eaten at least three eggs by now. To stop our bellies getting too wibbly we’re going to jump around to Rustie and pretend we’re fighting some rabbits.
After an amazing party at Mulletover last night with a great show from Carl Craig in a gimp mask, an ace set from Maya Jane Coles and some great tunes from the lovely Geddes, the kittens are heading to Birmingham for the Circoloco In The Arena party tomorrow. Jamie Jones, Kerri Chandler and Matthias Tanzmann are playing and we’re buzzing to be carrying on our bank holiday weekend of fun and music.
We love the tribal beats of Chano by Matthias Tanzmann. It’s got us stomping our feet around TK HQ warming up for another great night. No yawns allowed.
We kittens are BIG fans of Mulletover and many of our best nights have been spent dancing around various secret London car parks and warehouses with the fantastic Mulletover crowd. Some of our most memorable evenings have been their big Halloween parties and a particularly fun night with Mr Claude VonStroke on the decks….there are too many to name (and remember)!
Tonight marks their 8th Birthday with a stellar line up featuring Carl Craig, Maya Jane Coles, George FitzGerald, Appleblim, Midland, Efdeimin and of course Geddes….phew what a smasher. The Birthday also marks the release of their first commercially available cd which will be given out free to all of us lucky party goers tonight.
Happy Birthday Mulletover and here’s to many more years of good music and great parties!
We chose a blinding track from George FitzGerald to celebrate with…
We have a lot of love for MJC at TK HQ and are bursting with excitement about seeing her at Mulletover’s 8th Birthday party tomorrow night (more on that tomorrow). MJC had a storming year in 2011 is set for even bigger things this year with the release of her debut album and a forthcoming DJ Kicks album, we’ve seen the track listing and can’t wait to get our hands on a copy (it’s out on the 16th April)! There are so many great MJC tracks to chose from but it had to be the massive ‘What They Say’ as it’s just plain brilliant and we love bopping about to it. We heart Maya!
French duo The Svens describe their music as ‘Electronical stuff for electronical people’ which sounds right up our street. We adore their remix of Babels ‘Signs’ which is full of spacey synths and intergalactic beeps and bleeps. The track gives us over 8 minutes of lovely sounds with some nice atmospheric drops. With their fantastic production skills we definitely have the The Svens down as ones to watch.
This kitten is going crazy for that banana….we think it might be laced with some catnip.
All the sun this week sent us kittens a bit loco, and we really thought we were in Miami for the WMC. We wish we were, but being in the sunshine and listening to this two hour set from Seth and Ryan is close enough! Stick this on, turn up the volume and dance away… join us and become a Loco Gatito! (Crazy Kitten!)
This set from Groove Armada in Miami really makes us feel like we’re dancing on a beach in the sunshine (really it’s at our desks in London, but we do have some sun at least). It’s a typically uplifting mix from Tom and Andy featuring lots of their own tracks and plenty of bouncy house classics. One of the techno kittens first fell in love with electronica when she got her mitts on Groove Armadas first album ‘Northern Star’ and has been bopping ever since, so they hold a special place in her heart. We heart you GA!
