…remember to wear your seat belts techno kids. But we don’t always listen to him. From the TK archives is an absolute fave ‘Manila’ from Seelenluft and it’s gotta be the Ewan Pearson remix. Dance recklessly this weekend.
Hats off to Eats Everything. The gluttonous name for this Bristol based house DJ has become synonymous with some of the biggest tracks of the past year, producing some of our favourite tracks and remixes of the last few months. To top that all off he played an absolutely amazing Essential Mix for Radio 1 live from In:Motion in Bristol. It’s perfect for a weekend warm up and is definitely a Techno Kitten favourite (we reckon it should have won Essential Mix of 2011).
To us Eats Everything is all about deep house and funky basslines that get you shaking some moves, however when we discovered this DJ mag podcast by him we were pleasantly surprised to hear a different old school sound. Expect soulful vocals, high hats, piano riffs and those funky bass lines we mentioned, from what is just 1.5 hours of pure unadulterated house music. Enjoy!
After an amazing party at Mulletover last night with a great show from Carl Craig in a gimp mask, an ace set from Maya Jane Coles and some great tunes from the lovely Geddes, the kittens are heading to Birmingham for the Circoloco In The Arena party tomorrow. Jamie Jones, Kerri Chandler and Matthias Tanzmann are playing and we’re buzzing to be carrying on our bank holiday weekend of fun and music.
We love the tribal beats of Chano by Matthias Tanzmann. It’s got us stomping our feet around TK HQ warming up for another great night. No yawns allowed.
We kittens are BIG fans of Mulletover and many of our best nights have been spent dancing around various secret London car parks and warehouses with the fantastic Mulletover crowd. Some of our most memorable evenings have been their big Halloween parties and a particularly fun night with Mr Claude VonStroke on the decks….there are too many to name (and remember)!
Tonight marks their 8th Birthday with a stellar line up featuring Carl Craig, Maya Jane Coles, George FitzGerald, Appleblim, Midland, Efdeimin and of course Geddes….phew what a smasher. The Birthday also marks the release of their first commercially available cd which will be given out free to all of us lucky party goers tonight.
Happy Birthday Mulletover and here’s to many more years of good music and great parties!
We chose a blinding track from George FitzGerald to celebrate with…
We have a lot of love for MJC at TK HQ and are bursting with excitement about seeing her at Mulletover’s 8th Birthday party tomorrow night (more on that tomorrow). MJC had a storming year in 2011 is set for even bigger things this year with the release of her debut album and a forthcoming DJ Kicks album, we’ve seen the track listing and can’t wait to get our hands on a copy (it’s out on the 16th April)! There are so many great MJC tracks to chose from but it had to be the massive ‘What They Say’ as it’s just plain brilliant and we love bopping about to it. We heart Maya!
