This smooth set from Robert James delivers almost two hours of soulful house. There’s a laidback funky vibe from the start which soon builds momentum, dropping in some classic house tracks with catchy vocals and rather nice organ samples. The set also blends in some modern bass to give it a pretty tasty deep house edge. Hula shake your stuff to this.
Been a long time since the kittens have been so smitten with a whole album- but John Talabot’s ‘fin’ is a little bit special like that. Eclectic house with not a single skippable track, this is a listen all the way through kind of a journey. From world influences to screaming samples, catchy choruses to bouncy chords, Talabot certainly knows how to push our buttons. A must hear.
We have long been fans of Crazy P’s unique sound and are ubers excited about their live gig at KOKO in Camden this weekend. They’ll be playing their latest album ‘When We On’ which was so super we found it hard to pick a favourite track. Their blend of disco, house and soul accompanied with striking vocals, catchy melodies and sweet lyrics, has the perfect feel good vibe and has perked us up on many a bleary eyed commute to work. We last saw them live in Bristol a few years back and couldn’t stop dancing and smiling throughout the performance. We’ve been looking forward to getting the chance to see them perform live again ever since. A true bunch of babes!
Here’s a laid back remix of ‘Change’ released by Crazy P’s record label 2020VisionRecordings…
We were very excited to read on mixmag.net that there’s a plan to turn old air raid shelter/tube stations/tunnels into clubs for the electronic music loving masses. Underground dancing is something we enjoy a lot and those old tunnels and shelters will provide the perfect ambience for some raving antics. Just remember to swipe out. Click here to read the article.
