It’s Friday! We’re going raving! We’re happy! Stick this on and join us. An hour of superb house and techno from Kompakt.
In the meantime let’s sit back and relax whilst they set our legs on fire…
Did ya know? Pachanga is a type of Cuban party music – it’s also a damn good word. Pachanga!
Techno Kittens are pleased to report that the lovely Blond:ish didn’t dissapoint at the Kompakt label showcase last weekend- playing a seriously well crafted set which included our fave Blond:ish track ‘Lucy’s Disguise’ and this absolute classic from Larry Heard-
not forgetting this little gem we haven’t been able to stop listening to ever since, perfect for celebrating that Friday is finally here!
Thanks ladies, we were super impressed.
See you soon we hope.
We’re rather excited as on Saturday we’re off to see our hero Michael Mayer once again at the Kompakt party at Corsica Studios. And we are only very slightly less excited about seeing the lovely Blonde:ish for the first time, phwoar!
Blonde:ish have a treasure box of new material coming out in August. Here’s a taster. Check out their Soundcloud page for more. Very cool babes.
There are still a few tickets left so get one here before it’s too late!
Today’s label showcase loving is directed at the one and only Kompakt; without doubt one of the classiest house and techno labels around. Co owned by the amazingly talented duo Michael Mayer and Reinhard Voigt, every imprint has that certain unmistakable Kompakt quality. You know these guys don’t put their name to anything even approaching second rate. With releases by everyone from Matias Aguayo to Gui Boratto, John Tejada to Ewan Pearson- anyone familiar with their Kompakt compilation albums will understand our love for their quirky, off beat choices and eye for detail. Let’s celebrate their amazingness with this unbelievably good set by the man himself Michael Mayer for the Boiler Room. Pure class.
Download the set by signing up for the Boiler Rooms podcast here.
If you want to see the maestro in action he’s playing at Corsica in July at the Kompakt presents night along with a host of other Kompakt lovelies and we’re going! Get tickets here.
