Pan-Pot’s podcast for Artist Alife Transmission delivers an hour of deep techno, featuring tunes from Robert Hood, Shlomi Aber and Burnski. It’s bloody good. We recommend you take advantage of the free DL below.
Today the Techno Kittens are one year old and we couldn’t think of a better birthday present than being given the opportunity to interview Anja Schneider.
We put a few questions to technos most stylish lady, here’s what we asked…
Hi Anja, as founder of one of our favourite ever labels Mobilee you’re a bit of a hero of ours! What’s Mobilee got planned for 2013?
The next chapter of our mobilee back to back compilation will be released in a few weeks. This year Rodriguez Jr. is in charge presenting the sound of mobilee and adding a full album of exclusive music on CD2. Most of the tracks are produced in colloboration with mobilee artists like Sebo K, And.Id, Ray Okpara, Tassilo from Pan-Pot, Safeword and myself. This summer we will be at Sonar again as usual and hosting some very special parties on our beloved Hotel Diagonal rooftop. This is the highlight of our party year as we all have the chance to be together for a few days. But this year the authorities cut down the max capacity to max 235 people and there is no chance to get any tickets. Because of this we are doing a big pool party on Thursday at La Carpa in Barcelona with all mobilee artists and some special guests – tickets will go on sale soon. There is a new album from mobilee artist And.Id in the pipeline. I am still working on my new artist album and hope (fingers crossed) I can deliver it for release at the end of the summer.
You’re playing at Eastern Electrics festival in August, we’re gonna be there too – who would you recommend we check out?
Everyone! Wish I could stay there all the days and watch everybody performing. Its a great line-up with highlights every day and will be difficult to choose which to see.
Last summer Mobilee held a series of special summer parties including a rooftop party in Barcelona (we really wished we could have been at that one), any plans for more this summer?
As mentioned before that’s one of our annual highlights and we did that in Berlin, Barcelona and Moscow as well last August. Actually we are planning a mobilee rooftop world tour across the globe visiting the most exciting Hotel rooftops with pools and exciting views. But don’t tell anybody yet as its a secret project we are working on.
What tracks are you playing on repeat right now?
I have the perfect platform for testing our own label tracks at my gigs and take full advantage of it! I have my own ‘Diagonal’ EP coming out mid-April, so this will be on repeat with the rest. Tracks have a pretty short life-span set wise, as I play new ones all the time but I always try to support friends and our own on mobilee.
If you were a Techno Kitten for the day what would you get up to?
Every day I’m a ‘Techno Kitten’ with my work – meow!
Anja Schneider will be playing at Eastern Electrics festival in August along with Mobilee label mates Pan-Pot and a whole bunch of other great djs. Find out more and buy tickets here. We’ll be there – come and join us, it’s going to be a good one!

Mobilee have posted an entire documentary from their ‘Back to Back’ series on YouTube. This seven-parter is all about Pan-Pot (we never need an excuse to post about Pan-Pot on TK!) and features lots of interviews and behind the scenes footage. What cool dudes. It’s making us want to go out and dance right now! Essential watching.

The Techno Kittens have had a busy year of dancing and have seen so many brilliant acts at various festivals, clubs and beaches all over Europe. Here are our favourites of 2012 no particular order…
Dixon – We’ve been lucky enough to see Dixon three times this year and he totally hypnotised us on each occasion. We’ve already booked to see him in February!
Michael Mayer – we had a very magical night watching Mayer play all night long at Corsica Studios. 2012 also saw the release of ‘Mantasy’ which we loved!
Blond:ish – we saw the energetic pair play Corsica Studios in June and also got to meet them too. They were super lovely and played a superb party set that had the whole crowd dancing like crazy. We like their style a lot and are really excited for more in 2013.
Pan-Pot – we’ve seen the dashing duo three times this year and loved it every time. Guaranteed to get you moving with a set of pumping techno, these guys always seem to outdo themselves, and our expectations are always pretty high.
Move D – A beautiful set this summer at Lovebox as well as the stand out set at the Louche 5th birthday party secure David Moufang aka Move D’s place in our top 5- he’s never ever let us down!
George FitzGerald – we saw G-FitzG for the first time at Global Gathering in the summer. Not only has he got some great skills on the decks he’s produced some of our favourite tracks and remixes of the year too.
Take a gander at Pan-Pots best tracks of 2012. Good selection yeah!? We’ve seen them three times now and can vouch that they have fantastic taste in music. Keep checking back this month for some of our ‘Best of 2012’ posts. Yeah we know everyone’s at it but don’t you just love a good list!
Also here on Beatport so you can have a listen.
This weeks Friday Set Selector comes from Techno queen Anja Schneider.
Recorded live at the mobilee ADE session in Amsterdam which included Pan-Pot and Sebo K, it’s a banging techno set perfect for a weekend warm up. Definitely needed in frreeeeezing November. Enjoy.
As we’ve mentioned the Techno Kittens are splitting allegiances tonight with two of us off to the sold out Innervisions vs Permanent Vacation party to see Ame, Dixon, Todd Terje and Tensnake and the other one off to the Drumcode Fright Night to see Adam Beyer, Maetrik and Pan-Pot. With some of our very favourite djs playing we’re all going to be in for a good night. We’ve picked sets from both below to get you in the Saturday night party mood. Which party would you pick…..?
PS. We’re going to be making it to the Innervisions after party on the Stubnitz too. Check back next week for reviews and pictures.
Pan-Pot are a duo that produce top notch techno, and their latest remix of Format B’s ‘Liquid’ is no exception. It’s a dark, thumping remix and the mysterious melodies and distorted vocals make it a perfect track for any of the Halloween raves going on this weekend.
In fact we’re splitting up on Saturday night with half the kittens off to Innervisions in East London and the other kitty off to Great Suffolk Street Warehouse in South London for the Drumcode Halloween Fright Night. Pan-Pot are headlining along with techno demons Adam Bayer and Maetrik. It’s going to be a goulish night of dark, pumping techno where we’ll certainly be listening out for this remix. Maybe we’ll all turn into zombies when It drops…
Tickets for the Drumcode Halloween party are still on sale through Resident Advisor, priced at £27
Pan-Pot’s remix of ‘Liquid’ is available to download from Beatport now
Two weekends ago we went to the first Eastern Electrics Festival in Greenwich, London (we’ve waited to post this so we could bring you these very cool pictures taken by one TK whilst dancing on the stage behind Jamie Jones!). The site was a big urban space with views of the dome and Canary Wharf, various tents and one outdoor main stage and with one cracking line-up.
It was pretty heaving when we got there and some of the tents were pretty small which meant that we couldn’t get in to see some of the acts which was a shame. However we did still catch loads of our favorite acts including Kerri Chandler, Damian Lazarus, Nina Kraviz, Pan-Pot, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex and Joy Orbison.
There were two sets that made the festival for us and they were from Joy Orbison & Pan-Pot. Playing the Black Atlantic stage, Joy Orbison was playing to a packed out tent where the crowd were loving the techy beats. Pan-Pot took center stage of the krankbrother stage which was nestled nicely in a big dome shaped tent (similar, if not the same to the one we almost got to party in at Bloc! R.I.P.). Again, the Pan-Pot duo had the whole crowd dancing away to some really nice beats and created a buzzing atmosphere – as you’d expect from those two really.
Closing the festival on the main stage was Jamie Jones (at a rather early 10pm) with his set on the main stage erupting into firework and streamers when his remix of Eleven Eleven’s track Tourist Trap dropped – a very nice touch!
It was a brilliant day for music with loads of top artists showcasing the best in current tech-house on some banging sound systems. EE have already announced that the festival will take place again in 2013 and be bigger and better with 2 days and 2 nights of music.
Our only grumbles would be that some of the queues were a bit ridic with lines of over 30mins for toilets and the bar so please get more next time EE! We’d also like to see some more decorations next time to give the festival a bit more atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back for EE 2013 though!
